About the Doctor
Dr. Allison Murillo, D.C.
Born and raised out west, Dr. Allison Murillo is the director of chiropractic of Chiro One Wellness Center of Plainfield. Dr. Allison experienced the healing power of chiropractic firsthand as a teenager, overcoming severe leg pain. After growing up with both parents as pharmacists, Dr. Allison felt drawn to chiropractic as an alternative to medication.
After completing her undergraduate studies in biology at the University of St. Francis, Dr. Allison went on to receive her doctor of chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences.
Dr. Allison loves teaching. While in chiropractic school, she tutored many students in spinal, visceral and neuroanatomy. She’s incredibly passionate about chiropractic and natural healthcare; it gives her the opportunity to teach patients how to make their best health decisions every single day.
Devoted to giving back to her community, Dr. Allison participated in a chiropractic internship with the Salvation Army in Chicago. While there, she was able to help educate and treat patients in a work rehabilitation program.
An avid soccer player, Dr. Allison earned a scholarship to the University of St. Francis, where she also acted as team captain. In addition, Dr. Allison is an animal lover, enjoys cooking, reading, going to the movies, and spending time with her husband. She finds inspiration in her favorite quote by Henry Ford, "Whether you think you can, or think you can't—you're right."
