Originally from Windsor in Ontario, Canada, Dr. Mitchell Matthews, D.C., now calls Pewaukee, WI home. Compassionate and dedicated to patient care, he’s thrilled to be serving patients and community members as the clinic director of Chiro One of Hales Corners, WI.

Dr. Mitchell was introduced to chiropractic at a young age. As an active child, his mother thought it would be beneficial for him to undergo care. It was when he was in high school, as a member of the football team, that Dr. Mitchell noticed how much chiropractic care actually helped him; his friends and teammates experienced way more aches and pains than he did. When he realized it was due to chiropractic care, his interest in the human body, nutrition and chiropractic really took off.

After graduating from the University of Windsor with his bachelor’s in Human Kinetics, Dr. Mitchell then went on to earn his doctorate of chiropractic at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. While in school, he also worked as an X-ray technician, training and supervising his peers.

In practice, Dr. Mitchell loves working with babies and expectant mothers. “It’s just such an exciting time in their lives, and I want the process to be as pain-free as possible,” he says, adding, “I also love when parents see the benefit of getting their child checked to prevent any issues in the future.” He also really enjoys working with athletes, helping to enhance performance and recovery.

Dr. Mitchell’s favorite part about being a chiropractor is seeing people get better and realizing how amazing their bodies can be, when they allow proper communication to happen. His personal mission is to educate as many people as possible on the benefits of chiropractic care, so they can lead happy, healthy lives.

In his spare time, Dr. Mitchell loves spending time with his wife and their young son. They enjoy exercising as a family by going on nature runs and playing tennis. He’s also a huge fan of college football and the NFL.
