The youngest of eight children, Dr. Patricia Chen, D.C., grew up in a small town in Pennsylvania and is now loving life outside of Chicago. She is thrilled to be serving patients as the chiropractic director of Chiro One Wellness Centers of Mokena.
After earning her bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry from Slippery Rock University, where she was a member of the biology honors fraternity, Tri Beta. Dr. Patricia achieved her doctorate of chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences, as well as her master’s degrees in acupuncture and oriental medicine. During her graduate studies, Dr. Patricia was a member of the adjusting sorority, a graduate-level teaching assistant and the salutatorian of the acupuncture and oriental medicine programs. In addition to her chiropractic board certification, Dr. Patricia is also a licensed acupuncturist.
Growing up in a small town, Dr. Patricia had very little to no exposure to chiropractic. Lacking healthy, natural options for healthcare, she watched many loved ones go through unnecessary surgeries or turn to drugs as a primary means of pain management. As she continued to research alternatives in the healthcare field, Dr. Patricia was led to chiropractic care. Over the years, she’s witnessed firsthand people healing naturally without the need or help of drugs and surgery.
Dr. Patricia’s favorite part of being a chiropractor is being a catalyst in the healing process for her patients. She loves the moment when “pain-free” is no longer a patient’s hope, but their reality.
