Born in Poland, our Crystal Lake chiropractor, Dr. Michael Socha, D.C., and his family moved to the United States when he was 7 years old. Dr. Michael enjoyed growing up in the melting pot community of the northwest suburbs of Chicago and now happily lives in Schaumburg, close to his family. He wakes up excited every day to share what chiropractic has to offer with his patients; he practices at Chiro One Wellness Center of Crystal Lake.
During his first year as an undergraduate student, Dr. Michael injured his low back while lifting weights. Initially, he went the standard medical route, taking pain medication and muscle relaxants. Two months later, he hadn’t experienced any improvement in his symptoms—and had actually acquired more symptoms due to the medication. Frustrated, Dr. Michael went with his brother to see a chiropractor. After learning how chiropractic could improve his life, he decided to dedicate his life toward helping others find the same benefits.
A dean’s list student, Dr. Michael attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received his bachelor’s degree in finance with a minor in accounting. Once he decided to change his career path, he achieved his doctorate of chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences. In addition to his degrees, Dr. Michael is certified in acupuncture, kinesio taping and Graston and muscle release techniques. He is particularly passionate about working with athletes and enjoys seeing their games improve.
