Dr. Asad Khan, D.C., was born and raised on the North Side of Chicago. He’s now thrilled to be serving patients and community members as an associate chiropractor at Chiro One of Gurnee.
Dr. Asad first experienced the power of chiropractic after a sports injury in high school. He was a member of the basketball team, and during a game, he sprained his ankle. The injury was so intense that he was on crutches for a month, unable to walk. He ended up missing the rest of the season, and when he was finally able to walk again, his ankle still wasn’t 100 percent. He had issues running, and even using stairs was painful.
After a full year of ineffective therapies, Dr. Asad was starting to lose hope. It was his mother who first suggested he try chiropractic—and it was a game changer. Not only did it help him restore function and relieve pain, but it gave him back his confidence to play basketball without fear of re-injurying himself. The following year, he was able to rejoin the team, getting back to the sport he loved.
This experience inspired Dr. Asad to become a chiropractor. He received his bachelors in biology at Northeastern Illinois University before going on to earn his doctorate of chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences. While in school, he was a member of the Motion Palpation Club and the secretary of the NUHS Basketball Club. He is also certified in acupuncture and RockTape FMT 1 and 2.
In practice, Dr. Asad’s personal mission is to educate as many as possible about the power of chiropractic. Passionate about patient care, he loves helping people who have been suffering from injury and dysfunction find relief. For him, seeing a patient’s reaction when they can get back to doing what they love is priceless.
In his spare time, Dr. Asad loves spending time with his wife and child, traveling the world and rooting for his favorite sports teams. His favorite quote is, “Be the attitude you want to be around.” It reminds him to set his mentality for the day, because being in a positive mindset is contagious to those around you.
