Q: So, of the 45 percent of Americans who make a New Year's resolution, what do you think is the number one resolution in the United States?
A: If you guessed weight loss, you're right on the money.
Top Resolutions in the United States
Twenty-one percent of resolutions involve weight loss, followed by improved finances, exercise and a new job. It's no surprise that many people want to lose weight and it's also, sadly, no surprise that a third of Americans ditch their goals by the end of January.
Two Reasons Why it's Hard to Keep a New Year's Resolution
Experts say that many people struggle to keep a goal for two main reasons: It's hard to change bad habits and we tend to set unrealistic goals and expectations. In order to really dig deep and make some lasting changes in your life, like losing weight and keeping it off, you have to be willingly and ready to break bad habits and set attainable goals! Don't worry; we're here to support you.
The WLC Program
You may have seen some information about our program, Weight Loss Concepts, around the office—or even seen some of the great successes patients, doctors and other Chiro One team members have had. We've seen positive, awe-inspiring results again and again with this program, which is why we've brought it to you.
The program focuses on simple, small meals throughout the day, accompanied by high-quality supplements. Unlike many other programs that focus on suppressing the appetite and limiting food intake, we teach you which foods optimize nutrition and promote fat burning, while restricting the foods that quickly turn to fat. Along with the program, you receive support, coaching and accountability sessions from your doctor, to help keep you on track.
Four Ways to Stick to a New Year's Resolution
Give yourself a fighting chance this year and set yourself up for success. Here are some ways to stick to it this year:
Accountability. A support system is an incredible tool for success. Lean on your family members, friends and your Chiro One team to boost you up and keep you moving forward.
Forgiveness. Go easy on yourself! If you slip up, no worries—get back on track and keep going. It's all about progress, not perfection.
Patience. Take it a day at a time. Try not to constantly look for changes and scrutinize yourself in the mirror. Obsessing over immediate results can cause you to give up too soon.
Celebration. Don't wait until the end of your program to celebrate, congratulate yourself on the small successes you have every day.
We want you to live the healthiest, happiest life possible and if weight loss is holding you back, let us help you over that hurdle. Ask your Chiro One team member how you can get started on the WLC program.
