I adjusted my daughter’s atlas and she then took her first breath.”

My name is Greg Mongeon. I am a doctor of chiropractic and here’s my story.

My wife, Rachel, and I were eagerly expecting our first child. The day came to welcome this miracle into the world. Rachel’s delivery progressed quickly. She moved from 2 cm to 9 cm in about 4 hours. She stayed at 9 cm dilation for 6 hours. At that time, the OB said he felt something was wrong and he indicated that an emergency C-section was necessary. We were rushed down to the OR, and they realized the umbilical cord was wrapped around my daughter’s neck twice. As they pulled her tiny head out and unwrapped the cord, we realized she wasn’t breathing… she was dead.

The doctors put her under oxygen and my daddy instincts that understood neurology took over. I quickly adjusted my daughter’s atlas (the first vertebrae that protects the brain stem and that is the gateway to organs) and at that time, she took her first breath!! We have no idea how close she was to death or permanent brain damage, but what we do know is that we have an absolutely beautiful 5-year-old princess that demands adjustments 3 times a week from her daddy and we love her with all our heart.

Adrienne loves ballet, riding her scooter around the park and spending time with little brother, Jayden. She recently ran her first triathlon. I’m grateful to have been at the right place at the right time and for the gift of chiropractic. The atlas adjustment I performed sent a rush of stimulation to her organs and it literally saved our baby girl’s life!
