Nicholas is now three years old; it is hard to believe that less than a year ago he almost took his last breath. I remember it like it was yesterday. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to check on my boys. When I entered my youngest son’s room, I went to his bed and when I touched him, I noticed that he was having trouble breathing…My wife and I rushed him to the hospital and watched hopelessly as they hooked him with IV and Oxygen tubes. By the time we were done, he looked like something out of a Star Trek movie. Soon after, my wife and I spoke with the doctor who said that he had severe asthma and would need to be on medications for the rest of his life. Within a month, Nicholas only needed his medication about once a week. The following month he used his medication about twice and since this time, he has not had to use his medication at all!
