Dr. Shameika Whaley

Originally from Charleston, S.C., also known as ‘The Holy City’, Dr. Shameika Whaley is proud to call Kentucky home and serves as Clinic Director of Chiro One Wellness Center of Meadowthorpe.

Dr. Shameika earned her Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Biology from South Carolina State University, and her Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic.

In her early childhood, Dr. Shameika decided to become a doctor. It wasn’t until she returned from overseas after serving her country in Operation Iraqi Freedom that she was certain that holistic healthcare was the best fit for her. Dr. Shameika suffered a long history of migraine headaches which worsened when she returned to the states. Unsuccessful at finding relief through conventional medical practice, Dr. Shameika, like many, was forced to accept and adapt life to her condition. She then began to look into alternative treatments and her search led her to the hands of a holistic practitioner ‘Chiropractor’ who provided specific spinal adjustments to her head and neck. Dr. Shameika’s migraine headaches were cured, her eyes were opened and her life was forever changed. Seeking to understand this healing science that required not drugs or surgery, Dr. Shameika embarked on a journey that led her to Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic.

Dr. Shameika is dedicated to serving the Lexington community by educating and treating community members utilizing highly effective Chiropractic practices and serves as a mentor for various youth groups, Dr. Shameika’s special areas of interest include spiritual growth and fellowship with her Church family; staying physically fit, cooking, traveling, spending time with her immediate family and her precious little “Maggie”.

Dr. Shameika served in the US Army for 8 years and was deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom for 12 months. Dr. Shameika believes that ‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us,” from Oliver Wendell Holmes.
