Dr. Matthew Thacker
Dr. Matthew Thacker, a Yorkville Chiropractor, is originally from Melrose Park, IL and now proudly serves as Clinic Director of Chiro One Wellness
Center of Yorkville. Dr. Matt became a chiropractor to share the gift of the healing power of the human body and chiropractic with everyone and he looks forward to educating and serving the Yorkville community.
Dr. Matt's journey to become a Chiropractic was born out of his own personal experience. Dr. Matt suffered migraines, nausea and dizziness and was diagnosed by his medical doctors with a brain tumor. His life came to an abrupt halt and Dr. Matt underwent further testing and round after round of medications that were destroying his body and mind. After extensive
treatments, his cancer cells could not be detected and Dr. Matt was informed
that he would have to take a lifetime of brain altering prescription
medications to keep him from having seizures and that he'd need to monitor
the progress of the tumor for the rest of his life.
It was at this time that Dr. Matt sought out chiropractic to see if it could help. Dr. Matt started to get adjusted regularly, and after only three months, he felt like a completely different person. By the end of six months, Dr. Matt threw away all of his anti-seizure medications (that he had not needed prior to the brain tumor) and to this day, remains off of all the meds. Dr. Matt believes that he would not be alive today if he hadn't walked into a Chiropractor's office. He was given his life back!
A Yorkville Chiropractor, Dr. Matt pursued his undergraduate studies at
Moraine Community College and Scott Community College and later received his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic. An avid student, Dr. Matt loves learning new things and has recently discovered a strong interest in gardening.
"Action is the blossom of thought, and joy and suffering are its fruits," states Dr. Matt. "Thus does a man garner in the sweet and bitter fruitage of his own husbandry."
Dr. Matt was on the Dean's list at Palmer College of Chiropractic for multiple semesters and his charitable efforts include a Mission trip to Brazil where he provided chiropractic care for people in need of quality healthcare.
